Born in Akron Ohio, Erica’s pervading passion for the arts as a child and young adult, led her to study costume design, performing and fine arts at Kent State University. Erica completed her undergraduate education at Kent and received her bachelor’s degree in fine art.

Erica began to specialize in textile and sewing-based artwork while attending Kent State. Erica’s artwork and general aesthetic is inspired and influenced by early 20th century pattern and design, patternmaking, folklore, symbolism, and anthropomorphism in relation to her personal connection with animals and nature.

Erica moved to Columbus in 2004 and has exhibited her artwork in a variety of artist’s venues, including the Ohio Art League, BLD Studios, and Neo V galleries. She is presently a member of the Ohio Art League, Ballet Met, as well as the Columbus Audubon Society.

Erica joined the ZenGenius team in 2005 as a sewing specialist and visual merchant. Through ZenGenius, Erica has contributed to an amalgamation of projects for Victoria’s Secret, Express, Pink, White Barn Candle Co., and the North Market. She is now working with Limited Brands’ Pink as a principal visual merchandiser and seamstress.

In 2006, Erica acquired additional employment as an artist’s assistant to Linda Leviton, a local Columbus artist. She assisted Mrs. Leviton with the construction of projects at various stages of development that included woodworking, metalworking, welding, and weaving. Through her work with Mrs. Leviton, Erica was able to obtain new skills that enhanced her dexterity and experience as an artist and craftsperson.

Erica calls Clintonville home and is currently studying mathematics and chemistry at Columbus State in preparation for graduate school. Erica plans to study art conservation at New York University and looks forward to pursuing a career in paper conservation in the near future. Erica also attends the Ballet Met of Columbus as a student of classical ballet.
