Megan’s art career began at an early age, when her mother enrolled her in an art class. From ceramics in high school to photography at Columbus State, Megan’s interest in the arts has continued to grow. She finds acquiring new skills through different mediums constantly challenges and inspires her.
Since moving to Columbus from Lima, Ohio, Megan’s passion for art has evolved into jewelry making and most recently, fiber arts. Beginning in 2003 alongside he husband Megan created a line of fine art, bird houses, which are shown throughout Ohio. 2004 gave root to Green Petals, a floral preservation company which offers drying and encasing wedding bouquets.
Currently, Megan focuses on designing unique handbags and plush creatures available online at www.moogancreations.com. Her creations have been exhibited at the Athens Dairy Barn, Ursus, Grandview Lazy Daze Festival, The Bexley Festival and at The Frame Station.
Megan’s design experience consists of ten years in custom picture framing. While working at Tidwell Art Gallery in Charleston, S.C., Megan staged in house exhibits during The Spoleto Festival, under artists Miles Batt, Carolyn Epperly and Martin Ahrens. In addition to frame consulting and management, she has created display windows and vignettes for commissioned artist and taught framing classes through Upper Arlington Life Long Learning. Everything from original works of art to grouse feathers, Megan has creatively framed.
Megan’s event planning experience started in 1995, while working at Promowest Productions. Involved with live events, load in and load out, and selling of artist merchandise, Megan assisted on ground production for shows such as George Clinton, Foo Fighters and The Reverend Horton Heat, to name a few. As a freelance designer for Zen Genius, Megan utilizes event planning and floral design skills while participating in events for The Wendy’s Corporation, Henri Bendel and The Limited. Not limited to events, Megan has also found herself assisting in the our office from time to time.
Megan’s artistic talents and management history blend nicely to make her a valued asset to the Zen Genius team.
