| Tina Matthews grew
up in an artistic family from rural Kentucky. After
studying art for a year at the University of Louisville,
she moved to Columbus to attend the Columbus College
of Art and Design. Tina graduated in 2003 with a
BFA in experimental drawing, collage, printmaking,
and photography.
Tina is devoted to always expanding her range of
artistic pursuits and has recently played music with
local bands and performance groups and used her skills
to design CD packages, t-shirts, costumes, and sets.
Tina has developed her talents as a sculptor and
presently freelances for Plan B Toys to create prototypes
and translate photo-references into prototype sculptures.
As curation and restoration intern at the Columbus
Museum of Art, Tina learned to handle, install, light,
and store pieces of art and maintain the appearance
of the collections. Tina was responsible for fabricating
a welded device to anchor an outdoor sculpture (Clement
Meadmore) and created protective fabric covering
for a large interior sculpture (Arnaldo Pomodoro).
Tina’s collages, drawings, drawings and photography
have shown at Neo Gallery, Skylab, Studio 16, BLD
Studios, Stained Skin, the Ohio Art League’s
92ns Annual Spring Juried Exhibition, Sulan, Hai
Ku, and Beaton Gallery.
Since 2004 Tina has worked for ZenGenius as a contracted
visual merchant and event specialist. Her initiative
and professionalism have been valued at events including
the New Albany Classic and Scott’s Lawn and Garden
Awards Banquet. She has created window displays for
Bath and Body Works, Victoria’s Secret, and Victoria’s
Secret Pink as well as holiday floor sets for White
Barn Candle Co. and Express. Her artistry has been
put to use as an on-site seamstress for Victoria’s
Secret Pink, seamstress of table runners for Scott’s,
and has created prototypes and molds for Bath & Body
Works holiday windows. |
