Saniyyah Bilal is the founder of Curio Styling Consultants. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Industry Management and a MBA in Apparel Business Studies from Philadelphia University. Saniyyah is a costume designer, wardrobe stylist, and community activist, based out of Los Angeles, CA and Philadelphia, PA. She served as the fashion styling teacher for the non-profit youth organization SCH CAPA, as well as an Alimah Scout troop leader at her local Muslim Girl Scout Group. She has studied fashion in China and worked with Mo’ne Davis, The Oscars, Amber Rose, and New York Fashion Week, just to name a few. Mentored by Faatimah Gamble, and inspired by her experiences and Islamic culture, she developed her own styling company, Curio Styling Consultants in February 2012. Saniyyah hopes to inspire others with her craft, which is representative of her company name, Curio-- an unusual article or object of art valued as a CURIOsity.

  • Gained clients in the entertainment industry whom I styled for performances, interviews, videos and photo shoots
  • Responsible for all of the looks for the actors and extras on the original TV show Unfair & Ugly
  • Assisted the costume designer on the feature film Jinn

Bijou Bridal

  • Assisted brides, bridesmaids, and mothers of the bride/groom with their gown search, accessories and veil selection
  • Assessed which gowns clients should try on based on their body type, style aesthetic, wedding theme, and budget
  • Built a personable relationship with brides and followed up with them until the wedding
  • Unpacked and steamed new merchandise
  • Ensured the store was presentable and tidy for daily work days, as well as trunk shows
